Raza Kazim is a philosopher, lawyer, inventor and educator. In 1942, at the age of 12, he joined the Indian independence struggle, at age 29 he became an Advocate Supreme Court of Pakistan, Raza also designed the world’s first shrimp factory ship at age 32.
In 1995, he set up ‘Sanjan Nagar Institute of Philosophy & Arts’ and ‘Sanjan Nagar School’ which is free for girls in a working class area of Lahore. Both institutions have been funded from his Law practice ever since.
In 2001, he established the first Musicology department at the National College of Arts in Lahore. He designed and constructed ‘Bhulley’ high-end audio amplifiers and speakers. Raza also designed and made ‘Sagar Veena’, the first non-fretted stringed instrument for Indian classical music. He says that all his endeavours have been a means to concretise his emotional and intellectual commitment towards enriching life.
