Info

Nahid Siddiqui is the face of Kathak in Pakistan. She has, against all odds and challenges, spent over four decades of her life breathing hope, vitality and exuberance to a dance form that has received very little state patronage and support. She has personally contributed immensely to the growth of and accessibility to Kathak through efforts like teaching it in Pakistan, starting classes at the Bharatya Vidya Bhavan in London and introducing Kathak into the curriculum at the University of Surrey. She has started the Nahid Siddiqui Foundation which aims to revive the real arts of her region and provide a platform for all ages to explore dance, drama & music.
She continues to live, teach and make dance in Pakistan. Naheed is an invaluable source of inspiration for young artists.
